Well - what a lovely surprise! Thankyou so much for your interest!
ALthough I have tried many crafts, feltmaking is at the top of the list. I have felted for about 10 years now and it is still as exciting as the first day I started!
I am originally self taught - getting a book from the library and just having a go.
Hand and machine embroidery also feature in my work and marry well with felt as te canvas.

I am of the belief that colour is the key to successful work - find a colourway or selection of shades that you are motivated by and the rest will follow. Spending time reseaching exciting colour groupings paves the way for everything - good technique, thoughtful interpretation and engaging art. For me feltmaking is that vehicle -a chance to show off with colour.
My year in felt consists of classes in my studio, an exhibition and working as an artist in residence.

Last year I had the opportunity to havea solo exhibition in Seoul, South Korea and also ran a series of workshops. These were very exciting and we all had a wonderful time!

To anyone who is considering feltmaking - don't wait - plunge right in. Just imagine taking a lump of fluff and making a fabric - MAGIC!
