Another fabulous giveaway! Josh, of eknittingneedles.com is offering a complete set of knitting needles or crochet hooks, “you pick and choose” and one skein of any color of the new yarn they are now carrying. I bought a few sets and I am so impressed with these needles and hooks and the great pricing and quality. I have been using their needles for over a month now and my experience with these needles is A++++! This is a chance of a lifetime to have every size needle or crochet hooks you need at your fingertips.

eknittingneedles.com not only sells knitting needles but also beautiful bamboo crochet hooks in a large variety of sizes.  Bamboo is my needle of choice, because the yarns do not slip and they become better and better with age when it builds up that wonderful patina that comes from use. Handling something as natural as bamboo just feels good in your fingers. Just think of all the gorgeous knitted felts you can make with these wonderful knitting needles.

They are now carrying yarns and the winner will be getting a skein to try. I thank Josh of eknittingneedles.com for his amazing generosity.  An added bonus is that you get free shipping on orders over $15 and what could be better than this!  They also accept PayPal and credit cards and they also take checks and money orders.

For this giveaway, go over to eknittingneedles.com and check out the needles, crochet hooks and their new yarn, the folks at eknittingneedles.com are very interested in what types of yarns you would like to see them carry, so here is your chance to get in on the ground floor and have a shop that carries the type of yarns you love at great prices. Then come back here and in the comment area type what type of yarns you would like to see them carry, not brands, but types.  YOU must enter here not at eknittingneedles.com!  This giveaway will run from June 23, 2009 through July 7th 2009.   Good luck to everyone!

  2. Erika on June 23, 2009 12:21 pm

I love Bamboo and Alpaca! This is an awesome giveaway.

  4. Wendy on June 23, 2009 1:13 pm

Another vote for Bamboo! DK to worsted weights, lots of colours.

  5. inkoutloud on June 23, 2009 1:14 pm

A basic merino worsted in a variety of colors would be great!

  6. Mm on June 23, 2009 1:36 pm

bamboo would be nice as long as it FSC certified, otherwise, I wouldn’t touch it. Other “green” fibers and natural wools would be awesome!!

  7. Rachel HB on June 23, 2009 1:47 pm

I love a nice hand-dyed/kettle-dyed wool in a single ply, heavy worsted weight.

  8. Rachel O on June 23, 2009 1:49 pm

I love bamboo yarn – so silky. I prefer worsted weight.

  9. lauria on June 23, 2009 2:03 pm

I love that they have 3mm crochet hooks in bamboo! They’re so hard to find!

  10. Karen Clothier on June 23, 2009 2:05 pm

I would like to see a Bulky weight wool yarn that resembles roving with very little twist to it!

  11. lauria on June 23, 2009 2:11 pm

Oh crap. I got so excited about the hooks, I forgot to add what kind of yarn I’d like to see! I’d love to see silk blends. I had a silk blended with alpaca yarn that was lovely. I’d love to see silk blended with other things, too!

  12. Macy on June 23, 2009 2:24 pm

Beautiful! I’ve never seen a crochet bamboo hook! I would love to see bamboo yarns :)

  13. Lynn on June 23, 2009 3:02 pm

I was llooking at an alpaca, angora, silk blend the other day. Would love to see super soft stuff like that!

  14. Christel on June 23, 2009 4:12 pm

I’d love to see some 100% cotton yarns. The bamboo is also a great idea, and maybe bamboo/cotton mixes.

Maybe some hand-dyed yarns (in wool or any other fiber) in bright colors would be nice too :)

  15. Rabid on June 23, 2009 4:48 pm

Nice! I might pick up some of those needles to try this week :D

I’m currently hoarding sock yarn (fingering weight), but I also love bamboo :D

  16. Jan on June 23, 2009 5:28 pm

I have to agree with the others….Bamboo yarn in worsted weight to go along with some Bamboo crochet hooks!

  17. Andrea on June 23, 2009 6:03 pm

Those hooks looks delicious. And there’s even a 4.5mm! I would love to see some bamboo and/or cotton yarns for the warmer weather. Thanks for the link to the site.

  18. Carmen on June 23, 2009 6:09 pm

Some smaller weight bamboo (fingering or sport).

  19. Kim on June 23, 2009 6:45 pm

I’d love to see some bulky weight cotton and cotton blends.

  20. Knitting Fool on June 23, 2009 6:58 pm

I love alpaca. My favorite weights are either worsted or fingering.

  21. Mujercita on June 23, 2009 7:00 pm

The baby alpaca yarn is very exciting, but they could definitely use more variety. I’d love to see some worsted weight wool, for winter sweaters- I’d also love to see some DK or sport weight cotton or bamboo blends for summer knits. Sock yarn would be great also, especially something washable- my favorites are a superwash wool/nylon blend.

  22. Knitterella Purl on June 23, 2009 7:30 pm

Any bamboo yarn and any kind of sock yarn would be great! Also, more of a variety in color and dye-style (variegated, solid, etc.) would be nice.

  23. Raelena on June 23, 2009 9:03 pm

    Bamboo would be nice

  24. Gladys on June 23, 2009 9:48 pm

I’m looking for a yarn to make Sylvi, from the Twist Collective, and having trouble finding the perfect bulky yarn. I’d like a bulky wool/silk blend, so that it’s not as scratchy as the original yarn the pattern was knit in, and not as pill-prone as the soft merino wools can be.

  25. pam on June 23, 2009 10:22 pm

I’d like to see some alpaca wools in natural hues of greys and browns…possibly mixed with soft bamboo fibers as well…to create ‘bambwool’!

  26. Kenyetta on June 23, 2009 10:27 pm

    Sock yarns

  27. Orin on June 23, 2009 10:36 pm

I’d love to see silk blends, myself. Also anything with just a little bit of sheen to it so it shimmers ever so slightly. (I’ve found that works with “satin yarn” very well.)

  28. Josie on June 23, 2009 10:53 pm

More bamboo in dk-weight and worsted weight.

  29. Roz (AmIAKnitterYet) on June 24, 2009 6:32 am

always looking for new sock yarns. I do like the look of those needles…

  30. dorothy l on June 24, 2009 6:46 am

I would love to see some type of recycled fabric yarn con5459(at)gmail(dot)com

  31. Shelly on June 24, 2009 6:48 am

Maybe I’m boring, but I’d love some nice, soft, 100% wool, feltable, and at a great price.

  32. SANDRA MAIN on June 24, 2009 6:51 am

    EVERYONE SHOULD GO BAMBOO

  33. Bejeweled on June 24, 2009 6:52 am

I’d love to see a high-quality, soft bulky yarn. Something sophisticated, not rugged.

  34. Bettina Groh on June 24, 2009 6:56 am

My daughter is just learning to knit and keeps “borrowing” my needles some of which are hand-me-downs from her two grandmothers. I’d like to win these for her! Maybe I’ll get mine back?!
As what I’d like to see… feltable yarns

ps… love bamboo needles! So slick and light weight

  35. Mimi on June 24, 2009 8:10 am

Bamboo would be awesome to match with bamboo needles: a perfect match!

  36. Margie on June 24, 2009 8:58 am

Since it’s Summer, my hunt for the perfect cotton blend continues so this is the yarn I’d like to see included. And for the Winter? Some rustic wool yarns…yum!!

Thanks so much for a second chance at winning these fabulous needles!

  37. JuliaA on June 24, 2009 9:42 am

alpaca/silk or alpaca/tencel (or both)…i love the drape and sheen of those sort of fibers combined with the warmth of alpaca. weights from sock to worsted seem most popular.

  38. Deanna on June 24, 2009 10:06 am

Would love some merino wool, worsted weight, in solid fun colors!

  39. Natasha Redel on June 24, 2009 10:21 am

I am all about lace right now, and would love to have inexpensive choices in laceweight yarns. Where I live has NOTHING, and I would be willing to order yarn on the net where the shipping cost is that low!

  40. Whitney on June 24, 2009 10:44 am

Oh I would love to win these needles! I love the baby alpaca yarn you have pictured, would like to see different weights offered. Beautiful colours!

  41. Jersey Jessie on June 24, 2009 11:04 am

I love alpaca, but would also love to try a silk or silk blend (although not sari silk – I have knit with that and found it hard on my lungs. I felt like I was inhaling bits of the silk when I breathed).

My favorite weight is worsted weight.

The needles look and sound wonderful

  42. ikkinlala on June 24, 2009 11:16 am

I’d love to see organic wool in lighter (fingering or sport) weights. I’m also interested in linen.

  43. DeeAnn S on June 24, 2009 11:34 am

I’d love to have a set of bamboo circular needles! And maybe solid colors of alpaca yarns.

  44. Gina K on June 24, 2009 12:32 pm

How ironic…I just ordered some circular knitting needles from eKnittingNeedles.com two days ago! Found them by Googling a specific size & type of knitting needle I needed for a gift for someone! I love their site!
I don’t knit, but since they have crochet hooks and yarn, I did bookmark the site.
Anyways…I love the alpaca yarns, but I would love to try the bamboo yarns everyone is talking about…never tried it before!

  45. MelodyJ on June 24, 2009 12:40 pm

I would like to see yarn in different weights more. Also would like more fiber blends.

  46. Tracy on June 24, 2009 12:48 pm

You can tell we’re all knitting for warm weather–everyone wants bamboo! I’m knitting a pair of wool/bamboo blend socks, and the yarn is delicious. I love for luxury fibers (silk, cashmere, even alpaca) to be blended with a soft merino.

  47. EJ on June 24, 2009 1:03 pm

For sweaters, I love worsted weight, but lately I have been using hand-dyed sock yarns with solid (fingering) weight for some very interesting sweaters.

I love bamboo, silk, alpaca, merino. I am so spoiled!

  48. Heather K on June 24, 2009 1:30 pm

I would love to see some bamboo and merino in sock weight or, better yet, lace weight. Yummy@@

  49. Kim R. on June 24, 2009 3:05 pm

I would like to see cotton, silk/alpaca, and bamboo yarns. I would love to try bamboo knitting needles, only have used metal or plastic.

  50. Turtle on June 24, 2009 3:16 pm

wow great site (bookmarked them) I lvoe the selection of hooks and needles they have right now and that alpaca is gorgeous! I have been looking for more eco friendly yarns…ones made from fibers harvested from organic sources, or processed from eco friendly items like soy, corn, hemp etc.

  51. quinn on June 24, 2009 4:52 pm

Sock yarns! Merino and merino blends, please. Bonus points for organic and Fair Trade :)

  52. Emily on June 24, 2009 6:28 pm

Wow, what lovely products! I would love to see finer-gauge yarn, especially sock yarn and lace weight.

  53. TJ on June 24, 2009 8:49 pm

I love hand painted fingering weight yarn. I have mostly wool, but I’d love to try silk or alpaca or a blend.

  54. Jessica on June 24, 2009 9:46 pm

All kinds!! A good variety is what I like…and I LOVE alpaca.

  55. ALLY M123 on June 24, 2009 11:31 pm

Would love.love.love to see 100% cotton yarn! I love organic cotton yarn the best as it makes great sweaters and hand crafted wash cloths.

  56. Angela on June 24, 2009 11:47 pm

You absolutely CANNOT go wrong with a merino/silk blend, in any weight.

  57. sarah on June 25, 2009 3:28 am

how about sock weight yarns without wool (some people have allergies) – I’m thinking cotton or bamboo or? with self striping colorways. I prefer crochet hooks of all sizes and the Tierra color of the Alpaca yarn. I wish eknittingneedles.com every success! I already have some bamboo hooks from them that are very smooth.

  58. Cath on June 25, 2009 6:35 am

I love to work with bamboo (it’s so soft) so I’d suggest bamboo =D Wool would be great too.

  59. Elaine on June 25, 2009 8:39 am

I love bamboo, bamboo blends, silk, silk blends, alpaca. To me these are all the height of luxury. I’d also love to win a set of the needles.

  60. Linda on June 25, 2009 10:42 am

How about some gorgeous baby llama to go with the baby alpaca. Also, some cotton rich sock yarn for summer.

  61. Gloria on June 25, 2009 12:03 pm

I’d love to win…love the new site. Craft gossip is getting hip!!!

  62. Kat on June 25, 2009 12:45 pm

I second the calls for bamboo yarn, especially in sock weights and beautiful colours. I’ve never seen such a great selection of bamboo needles, especially dpns; they would be amazing for socks!

  63. Jessica Jones on June 26, 2009 9:16 am

I love fingering and laceweight yarns, and merino/silk or alpaca or bamboo blends are all great with me.

  64. Carla on June 26, 2009 9:46 am

The bamboo needle sets look wonderful and seem like a fantastic bargain. The alpaca looks great too. I’d love to see bamboo yarn added and also nice soft cotton yarns. Perhaps Josh might want to keep some yarns stocked all year and others be more seasonal. I love knitting with cotton, bamboo during warm weather and wools, alpaca during cooler weather.

  65. Baba on June 26, 2009 3:33 pm

I love the baby alpaca yarn but would love to see some cotton and a few more colors.

  66. Sally on June 27, 2009 11:45 am

The needles look really great. The prices seem to be very reasonable. I’ve never tried bamboo before. My favorite yarn to work with is hand dyed wool. That would be my choice.

  67. Shay Williams on June 27, 2009 5:42 pm

I have to put my name in the hat for this drawing. I used to love to crochet but have pretty much given it up as my hands get tired so quickly. But maybe with the bamboo, I could get back to a hobby I used to love.

Oh and yarn.. I have heard nothing but good things about bamboo. I just can’t find it (and I have looked so I could feel it up) locally.

  68. Jenna on June 28, 2009 9:46 am

I would love to see yarn in bamboo, nice cotton, silk or blends with those in them in sock or sport weight. I would also love to see the tiny steel crochet hooks that have bamboo handles.

  69. FalconDance on June 28, 2009 10:35 am

Perhaps a few hooks that are more user friendly to those of us who have arthritis. Fatter grips, for example.

I’d love to see you carry sports weight (or so) non-wool or -acrylic yarns. Every one seems to have wool (which I love, since I also spin) but few seem to also have a high quality, affordable tencel blend, silk, bamboo, etc.

  70. Pat Ewick on June 29, 2009 10:00 am

Bamboo or wool silk. Something very soft, but in vibrant colors.

  71. Sylvia on June 29, 2009 11:49 am

The needles look wonderful and so reasonable. I have never used bamboo needles and would love to try them out.

For yarn, my favorites vary with the season – cottons for summer, alpaca, merino, for the winter, bamboo for any season.

  72. vanessa on June 29, 2009 3:16 pm

I would also like to see some bamboo. Love the needles!

  73. Rena Jones on June 30, 2009 10:27 am

I too would love bamboo, bamboo-silk, alpaca, and/or cashmere. However, I would especially love to have the new Milk fiber yarn – particularly in DK weight.

  74. ravenm on June 30, 2009 1:54 pm

I’d like to see them carry alpaca and wool, of course, but I’d *really* love to see them carry fibers that fewer places carry: milk, corn, bamboo, hemp, buffalo, tencel, soy, yak, qiviut, and so forth.

  75. Heather on June 30, 2009 4:59 pm

I would like to see a silk blend with alpaca and wool probably light worsted for mittens. I can’t seem to find any at a reasonable price.

  76. Knitbee on July 1, 2009 4:40 am

I love a good worsted weight. I work almost completely in natural fibers, I would like to see a cotton and bamboo blend that does not hang funny after it is knitted. That would be a great summer blend.

  77. LisaD on July 3, 2009 9:46 am

I would love some soft but twisted(not so loose as hobby lobby I love that cotton) especially in a DK wt that seems hard to find

  78. Karen B. on July 3, 2009 4:23 pm

I would love to see organic cotton in natural colours supplied by nature. Sport weight and Chunky! Love the Bamboo Needles!

  79. bFlat on July 5, 2009 9:36 pm

I would love to see some bamboo yarn since it is so silky!

  80. aimerrell on July 6, 2009 12:05 pm

I think I agree a soft bamboo yarn in bold colors would be a great idea

  81. Kitten With A Whiplash on July 6, 2009 5:01 pm

I’d like some worsted/aran weight choices, I ususally work in those weights.

  82. One Sheep on July 6, 2009 5:07 pm

I’d like to see some indie dyers represented. While it’s nice that so many have shope on Etsy and similar places, you still have to find and visit each shop one at a time. Perhaps there are several folks local to your location that you could work with, maybe some that don’t have any internet presence yet.

  83. Maya on July 7, 2009 7:59 pm

Thnx u guys taught me how to knit u guys r da best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
