This dream pillow is a clever idea for the youngest child or the oldest in your family.  Lisa of “5 Orange Potatoes” makes a new dream pillows every year on the night of the winter solstice for her two girls.  Lisa likes to add dried lavender buds or rosemary to their pillows because they grow it organically in their garden.  Here’s a little list to work with, you can mix and match but make sure the odor is pleasant and not over bearing.

Herbs to add to the pillow stuffing if desired!

 Angelica: prophetic dreams and visions

Anise: use a little to repel nightmares

Bay laurel: inspiration; repels negativity

Cedar:  repel bad dreams

Cloves: retrieves buried memories; use sparingly

Hops: restful sleep and healing

Lavender: calming and helps to fall asleep

Marjoram: relieves depression

Mugwort: visions and prophetic dreams

Mullein: repels bad dreams

Rosemary: avoid nightmares and headaches; great for memory; use sparingly

St. johns wort: banishes spirits.

This pillow took her a little longer than she thought, but it is done and you can follow her tutorial on “5 Orange Potatoes” and create your own dream pillows. Thanks Lisa for the cute idea and tutorial. Follow “5 Orange Potatoes” on Twitter.
