This is an easy to understand video tutorial if you are just getting into felting. I found it on Zazu Ta’s site who tells us: I have recently fallen head over heels in love with felt. Everything felt. Especially, felt flowers. I was browsing through You Tube and came across some really easy to follow, creative tutorials. Thought I’d share them with you. Please note, the tutorials are NOT mine, I have posted them here from You Tube. The first tutorial is really easy , and perfect if you’ve just taken a fancy to the craft as I have. Also, using recycled sweaters… very cool!! This tutorial was made by Craftside.”

After running across planet fur I knew it was a place I wanted to share with you. There is a wall bunny that I have my eye on in their shop. What an imagination this felting artist has. She has so many beautiful and innovative designs it is hard to say which piece of art is my favorite. How adorable is her fun dimensional wall art for any child’s room. As I said, I am in love with the wall bunny and would love to buy it for my new grandson’s room but my daughter has to give the okay. She is very picky about all decorations that go into the little guy’s room. By the way, he is not yet two weeks old and I get to see him today on this day where we will all be wearing the green. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone, whether you’re Irish or not. Take a trip over to planet fur and check out all their beautiful items ready for you to buy for yourself or as a gift. Check out her Two deer – wedding cake topper (Pictured) She does custom orders.

You can even make up little accessories to go along with each doll. This posting is a offering you two wonderful patterns for your crafting enjoyment and at the same time an opportunity to spread your love around the world. The beautiful scarf can be made in different wool colors and lengths to fit your needs. What a spectacular addition for all your spring fashions.

Today’s Chile relief giveaway is from Etsy seller Lorena Ferreira. http://fireandicephoto.blogspot.com/2010/03/brightly-woven-purse-chile-relief.html. The adorable bag is from Lorena Ferreira. Hello everyone, my name is Lorena. I was born in Chile and raised in New York. I started knitting first (self taught at 19), then crocheting when I was expecting my second baby (I have 3), and finally weaving–self taught too–I read everything that comes into my hands, of course the internet, …but mainly I get my hands “dirty” and weave. I explore, experiment, and intuition is my way of going about making all my textiles. I start with colors—putting them next to each other…sometimes it takes weeks for me to figure out what will go with what…and the where is an ongoing process during the weaving (or crocheting…or felting). I learned to wet felt last year (self taught…what a surprise)…and I love it. I make one of a kind textiles, non-reproducible (I’ve tried) , unique…..as you will see (and feel hopefully). Description;
This one of a kind and unique clutch is just bursting with color, ready to go to a party, to cocktails, work…anywhere. The truth is she just wants to be seen!!! Crocheted in two shades of rose pink and bulky rainbow…she then went for a swim in hot water and soap, and came out beautifully felted and strong. Spunky hand felted blossom in handspun/hand dyed rainbow with black petals and a huge pin back so you can wear it on your coat, scarf she is 10-12″ wide and 8″tall.

The little chicks and eggs that are pictured are beyond precious. The instructions for these adorable creatures are on the Purl Bee and all the necessary yarns for this project can be purchased at purlsoho.com. There’re complete instructions for creating these little cuties and which yarns and needles to use. The creator of this project, Whitney relates:” It’s been a very long, very snowy winter in New York and, so, Easter is especially welcome to me this year. I can’t wait for a holiday that celebrates spring’s harbingers: baby chicks and lambs, budding daffodils, the bright colors of a warm, sunny day. To get the feeling started early, I made these Fuzzy Easter Chicks and Mini Easter Eggs. They fill me with anticipation and the hope that, yes, spring will actually come”. I hope you enjoy this project and check out all the other amazing projects they offer.

She seems to specialize in attracting unwanted, abandoned, lost, and unusual animals. The humane society has her on speed dial! They have a camel, 4 llamas, a pygmy goat, sheep, chickens, geese, and an occasional turkey now and then She has a design business making custom clothing for little ones called Sweet Grace Designs (sweetgrace on etsy) that supports her fabric habit and keeps her only daughter in clothing as colorful and one of a kind as she is! She gardens; home schools, farms, sews, designs, photographs, mothers, prays, and votes.

They are textile artists, working primarily in felt making. Felted wool fabric is one of the most ancient textiles. Their entire collection is created using the highest quality of natural and sustainable materials. They use a variety of raw wools which are selected for their felting characteristics, texture and wear ability. They are hand-dyed and hand carded by them to provide a wide palette range, and then hand-felted by layering and building up color and texture to achieve a soft and flexible felted item. All things are one of a kind and handmade with great care and attention to detail.

Hopefully, this giveaway will inspire everyone that enters to do one little deed today to help someone- a loved one, a neighbor, a co-worker, or some online that has touched your heart. Try to make a habit out of it- just one tiny gesture each day. If everyone did this, imagine the effect on the entire world. It’s amazing to think about the possible results. So readers let pay-it-forward. I know everyone of you knows someone that would just adore this stunning designer hat, but cannot afford it or would be uplifting to someone going through a difficult time. With the economy in such a mess think what a new hat would mean to someone special.

To enter, first go over to Crafts2Cherish and tell us which one of their designs you are lusting over, then come back here and tell who you want it to go to. You can tell as little or as much about the person as you and they would be comfortable with. Can anyone think of the best way to select a winner? Maybe all the editors on Craft Gossip would be good judges. This giveaway will run from today March 2, 2010 thru March 17th 2010 a perfect awarding date for and Irish shop. Wow! I am lusting after everything in their shop, what spectacular designers, but I do love this hat.

What I like most about this flower from Whipup.net, is that you cam use any colors you want to create a pretty bouquet to decorate a jacket or a hat or anything that suits your fancy. Think of this flower in gorgeous shades of green for St. Patrick’s Day. This is something you could do with the children if they are old enough to handle a scissor. Don’t worry about what shape they cut it will be their own unique design and you can explain to them that they are saving the planet.

What makes this flower so grand? It’s simple to make and crafted from sustainable products: eco-fi felt made of recycled plastic bottle and sweet vintage buttons. In no time at all, you’ll have a new felt posy for your wardrobe by following this simple tutorial. In fact, you’ll just have to be patient enough to allow the glue to dry between steps.

I located this felted rose decorator pillow tutorial on do-it-yourself. There is a seven step pictorial tutorial that is easy to follow. To add a new touch of interior fashion to any room this would be an ideal project. Pick the colors that you love and go with your decor and make one or several of these gorgeous pillows. You can revitalize a older pillow and bring it to life. If you’re not interested in refurbishing a pillow these would make lovely accessories for your clothing or hair. I hope you enjoy this project from the do-it-yourself network.
