I bought these adorable acorns from Kim Buchheit of Wildly Woolly and I love them.  I have a small black bowl filled with them on my coffee table and people always ask where I bought them.  I always tell them where to get them but I don’t know if they buy them, but I hope they do.  Now Kim is offering a video tutorial on just how to make these darlings and the process is clear and doable.  If you are not into making them you can always buy them from Kim’s ETSY shop “Kim’s ETSY Boutique” along with some of her other fabulous felted art.  Thanks Kim, for the wonderful video tutorial.

These hats would be adorable for young children for Halloween.  Shown are an Owl and a Butterfly hat for a boy and girl.  There are downloadable templates and a video with step-by-step instructions.  Before starting this project, you will need to felt an old 100 percent wool sweater. Simply wash the sweater in a washing machine with plenty of detergent and hot water, and dry in clothes dryer on high heat.  The soap, agitation, and heat will cause the scales of the wool fibers to open up, lock together, and condense. Washing the sweater with something made of heavy cloth, like a pair of jeans, will speed the process. You may need to wash and dry the sweater a few times — every sweater’s different. Test your sweater for felting by snipping the edge — it should not fray. If it does, wash and dry again.

Make this cute and easy pincushion with wool fabric scraps and a blender. This marvelous video comes from HGTV Simply Quilts with quilting artist Cindy Thury Smith.  This is an wonderful and fun idea for all of us to try.  We all have scraps of wool felt and wool roving lying around and what a wonderful way to use them up and create art.  There is a few second commercial before the tutorial video.  I think we can all find other projects to make using this method and what an adorable gift to make for holidays or craft sales. 

This Needle-Felted Blanket is such a great idea and each step is shown in a video.  You can pick your color scheme for your room or this would be an amazing holiday gift.  Use your imagination as far as shapes and placement.  How cute would this be as a sofa throws and a matching pillow or a baby blanket as a shower gift?  This video from Martha Stewart will get you mind racing as how to use this procedure on almost anything.  So give it a try, I am sure you will love it.

These are great videos by Melody Park Shin of MommyChick.com.  There are two videos; one is on how to make a felted apple and the other is a lovely pumpkin.  These are very clear tutorial videos that show you step-by-step how to felt these sweet items.  The apple is made by Melody’s 7 year old son Mason and he makes this a very special video.

This is a fun how-to-video that shows you step-by-step how to make a felt hair scrunchie.  This is really an adorable hair accessory that all girls and ladies will love.  You can use one color or a combination of colors. I think this needle carrier is just delightful and the complete pattern and felting instructions are in a PDF format for you to open and print.  This is a Cat Bordhi Design. The Moebius-brimmed bag is worn Robin Hood-style like an arrow quiver, holding your needles at the ready should you suddenly want to knit while traipsing through the forest! Each pair of needles is tucked into a Spiral Felted Needle Cozy. Imagine Robin Hood as a knitter – this is what his quiver would look like, full of knitting needles instead of arrows! The rim is a Moebius band, and so is the strap. Everything is felted so the quiver is sturdy enough to take up Mount Everest, or just to prop beside your favorite knitting chair.

Here is a cute video tutorial on YouTube on how to felt baby booties.  Visit Lacey’s PrettyLittle’s ETSY shop and see all her wonderful felting. Lacey is 24, and lives in beautiful Portland, Oregon. She is a self taught crocheter and felter, inspired by all the adorable children she has cared for as a nanny and big sister.

She tries to be as nice to the world around her as possible: She does not drive, recycles religiously, eats natural foods, uses biodegradable products, energy efficient lighting, and powers her apartment with wind energy. So we can say that PrettyLittle is an eco-friendly business.

These two tutorial videos were found on one of carol Duvall’s shows on HGTV.com. These videos on fabulous felt flowers by Lynne Farris come in two parts. Part one is how to create a bird of paradise and part 2 is on creating another beautiful tropical flower. Lynne shows us everything we will need to create these beautiful flowers. I am sure you want to try at least one of these amazing tropical beauties.

This is a fun video by Laurie Sharp on how to needle felt a bunny.  The video is in time lapse so keep your eyes open.  This little bunny is so cute and I’m sure all you needle felters will want to try one.

Laurie owns Wool Pets, her needle felting kit business, her book “Wool Pets: showing you how to make 20 Figures with Wool Roving and a felting Needle. Kevin, Laurie’s husband is a photographer and they work out of their home in Suquamish, Washington.  Kevin does all the great step-by-step photography for Laurie’s kits and also shot all the photos for the book.

I found this video on Martha Stewart’s site on making this adorable needle felted nest on a stand. There is a complete video and be sure to watch both parts. When the first part of the video stops, there is a pause and then a brief commercial and then it will continue to the second part showing you how to make the felted bird nest.  (Be patient) This is an adorable project that you will not want to miss. Besides the video there is a downloadable template for the Armature that holds the adorable nest. So go take a look and see if you want to put some of your time into this project. While watching it I was thinking of other Armatures you could use to hold the nest.  This is an idea, and you can take it as far as you want or make it easier. Click on this link to see the video.
