The three  sisters; authors of “One Ball Knits; Purses” Fatema, Khadija, & Hajera Habibur-Rahman can be very selective when it comes to their handbags, so designing the twenty unique purses, each made with only one ball of yarn, was an inspiring challenge that tested their design and knitting skills. They designed each bag to be up-to-date; yet with classical, stylish and functional appeal. Each bag calls for just one ball, hank, or skein of yarn. A range of styles, shapes, and colors make it hard to pick just one purse, but the simple basics section makes it easy to get started, with guidance on yarn weights and types, tools, and step-by-step directions for essential stitches and techniques. The projects are organized by seasons. Many different techniques are used to create and embellish the purses, including short row knitting, circular knitting, beading, and felting.
