Abby of “While She Naps” is so creative and she has a number of darling projects with tutorials. Abby made a “little felt bird in flight” and she thought we might like to make one, too. Pretty as ornaments for the holidays, or hanging from a branch for a mobile. This is simple to make with a few scraps of felt and some embroidery floss. The second picture are some of the birds made up in different colors. Abby first book, The Artful Bird: Feathered Friends To Make and Sew was an ALA Booklist top ten craft book of 2011. Her new book, Stuffed Animals: From Concept to Construction, is about soft toy design. It was published by Lark Crafts in May of 2013 and named a Best Book of 2013 by Amazon. Abby regularly contributes projects to craft magazines and books and she is a licensed toy designer for Simplicity.
