Shalana hosts “The Funky Felter” and is showing us how to easily create homemade wool dryer balls or felted beads for decorations. In 2005 she took a fiber art course at a local community college out of curiosity and fell in love with felting. She is living in rural southern Missouri where she grew up having happily found her way back to her family and roots. She is a mommy and wife and they just bought a new home (fixer upper) with an out building that will one day be recreated into her studio. It is time to reintroduce you to making felted wool balls or beads. With the warm weather you can do this outside with your bowls of water and roving and they will dry quickly in the hot sun which in the winter Is a slow and difficult task unless you place them in front of heat outlet on a wire rack. This is a project that you can do with your children and I’m sure they will love getting their hands wet and soapy making these felt balls. Shalana has always been a great friend to Craft gossip and I want to thank her for sharing this complete tutorial with us. TUTORIAL HERE!
