Foxes are so popular to needle felt, and you can see why they would be. You can do so many different poses and styles, these are just a few of the fun tutorials of all different levels that I found recently. Plus some gorgeous inspirational pics to really get you thinking about what you could make in your special, unique style as well!
This is a great little beginner project, Lia Griffith creates this little guy over a styrofoam egg but you can just as easily make it entirely of fibre!
Here’s a simple tutorial for a sleeping fox. You still need to sculpt a very shaped head but this tutorial also shows you how to blend your fibres and add colours to felted pieces. Visit The Wishing Shed at the link here to follow along with this cute tutorial.
For the more advanced felter looking for a wonderful tutorial video you can work along with, Krista of Kreations by Krista has a 4 part series for making this absolutely amazing fox.
Another video tutorial, but here is a completely different style of fox. This one reminds me of Mr Fox from the story books! 🙂 Check out the tutorial here from Binc Bonk.
Of course not all foxes are orange or brown, meet the Fennec fox, and you can create your own one by following along with this nice little video tutorial by Chamkke Needle Felt over on YouTube.
Here’s another tutorial by The Wishing Shed, this one is more technical and creates this wonderful, fine featured fox with a wire armature. You will learn so many new techniques with this one, and it’s a great tutorial to work along with. This one might be my favourite! 🙂
Now here’s some inspiration for you, all different kinds of felted foxes!
I love the idea of making a decoration but you can use your foxy creations in many different areas including, jewellery like the brooch above!
I hope you enjoyed checking out these ideas and tutorials for all levels!
