Wet felting Inspiration! Get ready for jaw dropping creations!

March 22, 2022 by Liza Adams

The Amazing art of ATSUKO SASAKI

As I may have mentioned before, I’m no wet felter, but I sure can appreciate all the work that goes into your average, beautiful piece of felted fabric.  Having said that, this is definitely not your average piece of felting!  The amazing Atsuko Sasaki creates breathtaking pieces of fine art with her wet felting, from those that look like handbags to the super fine finish of her surreal light shades, I can safely say I’ve never seen anything like it!

I recently discovered her work first when I came across this article on Creative Spotting  You can see the link here for a great overview of her work also!

But that just whet my appetite so I did a search and found her website!  https://www.atsuko-art.com/

Absolutely jaw dropping!!

So inspirational, she has a huge collection of works, you can peruse her abundantly filled website for hours with close up photos and amazing panoramic views of her exhibitions.  From sea urchins to mounted busts of sheep, hanging lights and handbags.  You won’t believe the detail, the finish and the design of the works on this page.

She has a facebook page with even more photos and updates, you can find that here: https://www.facebook.com/taneno.feltart

And also a YouTube Channel where I found some amazing videos, it was just like being at her breathtaking exhibition!

Anyone would be impressed with her work I am sure, so check it out and leave inspired.  I know I am!

Happy felting!
