How to Wet Felt a Bird Pod With Wool: Free Tutorial

April 12, by Liza Adams. Leave a Comment

An example of a wet-felted bird pod which I made last summer and which still hangs in my garden today.

I just love the look of these great little project!  As with all things felting though you don’t get here by accident.  There’s a lot of work involved but if you are already a felter then you know this will be a labour of love!  And possibly no more work than the last scarf you made! 🙂

This neat little pod by FeltMagnet has a full tutorial with step by step photos as well as a video with a different method if you want to try that as well.

Bird pods can make such decorative items, and they can be used inside or outside. This is a group of pods I made last summer.

These methods will open up a whole variety of projects you can create in this lovely smooth round shape!  They could be the foundation for something spectacular or keep it simple and create something with the kids!

I hope you will enjoy checking out the page linked here.

Happy Felting
