Felted Spider web Coasters

October 6, 2007 by Linda Lanese

I love these coasters because they absorb the moisture off of glasses so the drink does not stick to the coaster and fall off the drink when you pick it up. I got the spider web shape off the better Home’s and Garden web site which also allows you to Download the free pattern for this project, but my method in creating them ends here. Another great thing about these coasters is that they are completely washable. I used the pattern and cut four out of a heavy wool felting. Then I took white wool yarn and needle felted the yarn to the wool. My intent was to follow the webbing pattern on the webs, but soon bored (not an asset) with this and began doing my own thing and I am happy I did because they are all different. I am going to make some for Thanksgiving, Christmas or just to match my décor in some form or another.
