When I saw Melissa’s wearable knitted and felted art, it was love at first sight. Her work is amazing and so chic that her pieces look as if they came off of a Paris runway. I fell in love with her Black Felted LOCKS Scarf (pictured) and just had to buy it. Do check out is fabulous fashion designer and I am sure you will also be impressed.Mellissa teaches Knitwear Design in the Fashion Department of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and she the co-founder of Stitchlab (a school for sewing and fiber arts instruction in the Hudson Valley Region). In 2005, she started Year of the Goat, which exited its material location and went strictly online in 2007.

Melissa’ sells her art on ETSY and one the Year of the Goat.

Thank you for the praise; I intend to keep experimenting with non-traditional materials and methods of fiber manipulation including felt-making. The potential of this medium is truly limitless. I will continue to watch this site for inspiration! Thanks again, Melissa
