Felted Bloody Eyeballs

September 25, 2008 by Linda Lanese

I used the pattern from “Gruesome Knitted Eyeballs for Halloween, Mary Jane Midge & Mink Living in Color” where they have complete instruction for these fun eyeballs.  I upsized my knitting needles to a size 10 US and used Cascade 220 yarn, because I planned to felt my eyeballs.   After knitting I felted them and allowed them to dry and then stuffed them.   For the blood shot look I used the red yarn separated to make a thinner piece and needle felted in the veining.  I tried making a puddle of blood out of three different application and even added red Jello to one.   The perfect thing to use would have been red latex paint after it was poured and dried to a skin.  Well, this was my adventure the last couple of days and it was fun 🙂  Try a few and send me the pictures and I will post them here.
