Wet Felting By: Nicola Brown

December 23, 2008 by Linda Lanese

I first found Nicola Brown on Ravelry and fell-in-love with her vessels and really, all of her nuno felting.  Nicola is from South East Ireland.  If you go to her flickr slideshow you will find how diverse Nicola’s talents are .  She creates delightful nuno felted items and sells them on ETSY in called Clasheen’s.  Her blog is Clasheen by Nicola Brown

Nicola enlightens us:  I was introduced to wet felting in August 2007 I have become a total felt addict! I am delighted to have been chosen by the Crafts Council of Ireland to participate in ‘Breaking Out’, an exhibition for emerging craft makers with potential.

Hi Linda, Thanks so much for submitting your review of my felting, I am very honoured! Technically the images that you have selected from my work are all wet felted and the scarf with the hearts and the pod vessel on its side are both nuno felted. At the moment I am making a large felted sign to hang at the end of my lane (my house is in a very rural area!) using the Osman technique and over the start of the New Year I will be nuno felting a series of landscapes using silk chiffon and fine merino wool. As with most of my work I will be blogging about the progress of these pieces and then putting the images up on my Flickr pages as soon as the work is completed. Thanks Linda for all your efforts promoting felting, it is much appreciated!

Best wishes to you and to all of your readers for 2009.

    Nicola
