Knit Mitten Ornaments one felted & one not!

November 12, 2010 by Linda Lanese

I used this pattern from FaveCrafts and knitted one mitten with acrylic yarn and the other in wool.  I used 4 & 5 mm knitting needles instead of the 3.75 mm [US 5], 5 mm [US 8] stated in their pattern.  They also state that gauge is not critical for this pattern. NOTE: Refer to yarn labels for appropriate size needles, and use accordingly.  I used the 4mm for the ribbing and 5mm for the mitten body.  The white is too big and I love the red felted one.  You can knit one mitten up in a couple of hours while watching your favorite TV show.  Try one and let me know what you come up with.  These make darling gift toppers also.  I think these would also be wearable for a small child.
