3 little Beginner needle felting projects from Lia Griffith

October 29, 2021 by Liza Adams

Do you prefer to felt along to a live tutorial?  Well I’ve discovered this crafty channel with 3 little videos that take you through some beginner projects with time and money saving tips and tricks!

felted penguins

Lia Griffith teaches on a wide range of crafts generally but these 3 little projects are very cute!  Usually you need to pay to join her website as a member and download ‘patterns’ for her projects, but she has very kindly put these 3 on YouTube for the public to use!

She has basic instructions for making Robins, Pandas and Penguins!  I’ve seen photos of these projects all over Pinterest including the very clear step by step photos from her website.  One of the most valuable tips here is making the little wire legs for the bird!  I think so many felters, including myself, have trouble coming up with a good technique for making wire legs.  Lia gives you lovely close up instructions on this and I’m sure you will find great success creating them after you have watched this too!

Learn how to save fibre, source well priced materials and add other dimensions to your work!  Sometimes you really need to work economically, especially when supplies are hard to come by, so making what you have last longer is very valuable!  And what cute projects these are, who doesn’t love a panda?  And needle felted birds are becoming so popular at the moment.  Create some wonderful Christmas gifts and share your new found love for fibre with the ones you love!

If you need a little more instruction than the videos or you want to join up for her other projects just head over to the website here!

I hope you will enjoy these little projects,

happy felting!
