I don’t know about you, but I get kinda tired of eggs and egg projects for Easter, which is why I’ve put together this neat collection of needle felting projects that are all lambs! To me, if you make a cute little lamb and add some flowers especially in a wreath or as part of a display, they look very sweet and Easter like! 🙂
So onto the tutorials. This first one is by the wonderful Philippa from Felts by Philippa.
In this tutorial you would be making a larger sheep over wire.
The next one is another of Philippas but this one you won’t use a wire frame for the entire sheep, but just pipecleaners for the legs, and I love the technique she uses here. It’s not a technique I’ve seen before but it’s nice and easy and gives a great finish!
The next project is quite a large sheep, of course you can make these projects in whatever size you like but what you will be following will be instructions for a larger project. This one is by Yelena who gives great clear instructions and some interesting tips you might not have seen before.
The next project is a quick little step by step from Lia Griffith, you might have seen these step by step tutorials floating around online, there’s all sorts available. This one is for a couple of sweet sheep felted over a polystyrene core! You also learn how to make the top coat. Follow the link here for the instructions!
Here’s a sweet little project for a wooly little guy created very simply over pipecleaners! You can find the tutorial over at their very sweet page at naturecrafty.com!
The next video shows you a couple of different ways to add locks to your sheep and I kinda love the multi coloured ones! 🙂
Need some help making flowers to add? Here’s a few quick tutorials to give you colourful ideas!
Visit Craft Me Happy to make these little guys from a cookie cutter, but I think you could also make them by rolling 5 little balls!
Or how about this one!
Of course you can add flowers made from any type of craft you like, they will all look great. Either attach a few behind the ear, around the neck or create a platform for your sheep to sit on and decorate that! You won’t be short of inspiration if you do a bit of a search as well.
I hope you have enjoyed this varied array of instruction, trying different techniques helps you to find your niche and figure out what style you like to work in. Or if things have been getting a bit stale, trying a new way can help liven things up again.
Enjoy working with gorgeous colours and ideas and
Happy felting!
