Free knitting pattern, video tutorial: Felted Pan Handle Cozy & Felted Plant Hangers

May 5, 2012 by Linda Lanese

Katie Startzman of “Duo Fiberworks” has two incredible Mother’s Day gift felting tutorials and patterns for you to make for Mother’s Day gifts. I would love both from my kids.  I have the Cuisinart 12 MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware set that I adore and because they have the stainless handles you can put them in the oven (Love this) but once I get them out of the oven I lay down the pot holders and I always end up grabbing the bare hot handle.  With Katie’s felted pan handle cozies; you slip them on when removing from the oven or stove and leave them on until the pan cools.  She even has a wonderful video on how to hand felt instead of doing your felting in your washer (do take the time to watch her video she has some GREAT ideas for you). The next tutorial it Katie has for us is the darling Free Knitting Pattern: Felted Plant Hanger for mom with some pretty ivy or cascading plants in them. Brown or green seems to be the best colors to use. Katie said she got this idea from when she used to macramé plant holders in summer camp. Both of these projects come with downloadable PDF pattern instructions. Thank so much Katie, for sharing your amazing patterns with us.  Follow Duo Fiberworks on Facebook.
