Exceptional Tutorial! Intermediate to Advanced Needle Felters, Feathered Dragon!

April 29, 2022 by Liza Adams

I just love it when I find a beautifully detailed and stunning project for the more advanced felter like this one.  For those of us who are past the beginner basics it can be hard to find something with a bit more substance to stretch us and help us learn more about this wonderful craft.

This project is a great blend of needle and wet felting.   Alena Bobrova takes you step by step through creating the gorgeous feathers in this project and if you haven’t wet felted before her tutorial is very detailed with wonderful results.  She doesn’t take you through creating the dragon itself but this is why I consider it to be a more advanced project as you can create anything yourself that you would like to add leaves or feathers to with this technique and the more advanced felter will have no trouble coming up with something they want to try this on!

You can find the tutorial here!

So if you haven’t tried blending dry and wet felting techniques yet this is your chance to give it a go.  And, as usual, I’m a great advocate for extending your learning and taking on techniques that really get you thinking of other ways you can make use of them.

Have a wonderful time checking out this tutorial and I do hope you enjoy it.

Happy Felting!
