A Jolly Little Felted Santa That’s Pure Holiday Joy to Make

November 4, 2025 by Shellie Wilson

This Santa Claus felting kit might just be my favorite festive craft of the year. It’s small, cheerful, and so much fun to bring to life. The moment you start shaping that rosy little nose and fluffy white beard, you can’t help but smile — it’s the perfect project to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Everything you need is included in the kit — from the soft red and white wool to the felting needles and foam pad. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, even if you’re brand new to needle felting. I really love that the steps build up slowly, so you can see your Santa taking shape bit by bit. There’s something incredibly satisfying about turning a handful of loose wool into a jolly little character with personality.

I made my first one as a test run for the blog, and before I knew it, I was halfway through a second because it was just that relaxing. The finished Santa is sturdy, lightweight, and just the right size to use as an ornament or to pop onto a gift box for an extra handmade touch.

It’s a perfect weekend craft or a thoughtful DIY gift idea for anyone who loves handmade Christmas decor. Honestly, it’s hard not to fall in love with this little guy once he’s smiling back at you from your craft table.
