Christmas in July; Decorations Made from Felt, Tutorials

July 20, 2011 by Linda Lanese

It’s July and we are sweating here in most of the states in the USA and some snow would feel pretty good today @96 degrees; so how about Christmas in July.  Better Homes & Gardens are offering some fun and pretty projects.  They have several awesome and lovely projects for you to make out of felt, just scroll through all the pictures and then go to the how to section. How beautiful is this Felt Snowflake Wreath Snowflakes cut from fluffy white felt help decorate a melt-free wreath that can be displayed all winter long. It looks perfect hanging on a door or as a simple decoration above a mantel. The Felt Poinsettia Bloom Using layered leaves of felt, create everlasting poinsettia stems that you can exhibit this season and for years to come.  I love the Felt Snowflake Pillow Craft your own snowy scene by sprinkling a dusting of snowflakes across a red felt pillow. Trace the snowflake patterns onto sheets of fusible webbing, fuse to ivory felt, cut out the shapes, and then fuse to a pillow front. For a decorative touch, use a sewing machine and rayon thread to add topstitch details.
